Russ appeared on "The Daily Show" with Jon Stewart last night, and he didn't pull any punches. America is losing focus on some of the greatest threats in the world by stripping the nuance from public debate and laughing off countries that control important cards in the global game. But one of the greatest challenges is one we face at home - the rampant proliferation of money in our political system.

Here's Russ on the Supreme Court's ruling in Citizens United: "What the Supreme Court did in Citizens United was destroy the entire foundation. And now we have corporations and unions able to use their treasuries directly to do the stuff they’ve never been able to do since the Gilded Age, since Teddy Roosevelt...Basically the Supreme Court just made it up. It was one of the worst decisions in the history of the country. "
